Clarke Tech ET9200 review/test.
2012-02-02
Here is how I upgraded:
I first downloaded ET-toolbox which have bootloader 2011-11-30 and Image V4. You can also find booatloader on internetforums for example world of satellite.
Use one USB flash memory stick.
This memorystick must be FAT32. Put memorystick in PC.
Use Windows XP, on keyboard hold Windows Key and at the same time hold (key) e. Now "This Computer" pops up.
Rightclick om the letter which is the USB stick.
Elect Format. Then elect Format FAT32.
Before you can put a new Image in ET9200 you have to use the latest boodloader (I used bootloader 2011-09-29 beacuse my ET9200 did have older bootloader).
On the USB stick make a folder "et9x00" (I tried to make folder "et9000" but would not work).
In the folder "et9x00" put the bootloader (2 files, imageversion and cfe). NOTE! The USB stick must not have any other files on it. Be sure note have any USB media plugged in on the USB ports.
Shut down (power off) the ET9200 with the switch on the backside.
Put the USB stick in front or back of receiver (does not matter which USB).
Power on ET9200, in display show "upgrade OK/cancel", on frontpanel push OK or arrow down
to elect OK.
Now starts upgrade bootloder (takes about 1 minute)
and says upgrade done.
Now it is time to put the new image.
Erase the USB stick, make folder "et9x00" in the folder, put the image on the USB stick (files: imageversion, kernel, noforce, rootfs).
Power on ET9200, in display show "upgrade OK/cancel", on frontpanel push OK down
to elect OK. (in display will show "flashing")
Now starts upgrade image (takes about 5 minutes)
andafter it is finished ET9200 will boot with the new user interface.
Eject the USB stick an start to use the new userinterface. Now you can for example add new plugins (you must be connected to internet), if you could not do this before of course.
Here is what I found on internet (2012-02-01):
Clark-tech ET9000 Image v2 based as always on the proven PLi.
ET9000 folder on a USB flash drive to unpack, plug in and reboot the receiver to switch.
Either the image is in the display itself will be offered or you have to think when you start the menu button.
After flashing automatically installs an addon pack.
As long as the on-screen "First Boot please wait ". Depending on the line takes a few minutes.
So do not be impatient or cancel.
When the box is not on the Internet, this process is skipped.
The First Boot package can be installed separately later in the HDF-Toolbox.
In the First Boot EMU's are Picon's package included plugin's, Skin's.

adjustments:
1. you can adjust the optic from the menu
menu - setup - system - customize
please change to the entry: "mainmenu list option".
use one of the following three options:
"icon scroll"
"icon thumbs"
or
"text"
the text-option looks like CT 1.1-Image.
It gives no pig (picture in graphic) more with the entry "text".
2. You can use the new secondinfobar, to show more channel-infos. The normal infobar looks better, with not so many infos.
menu - setup - system - customize
Please change to; "Show second infobar"
You can select:
"None"
"No timeout" (permanent display, you can blend it out with the ok-key.)
"1 - 10 seconds" how long you wish.
You can change the size from the secondinfobar in the menu: "Second infobar size" you can select between maximum or minimum.
After that and to see the change, please make a reboot.
